I used to charge Jaide 15 cents for every time she used the word "like" incorrectly, but she can't LIKE afford that anymore!

Jaide and Blake have a really special relationship. For this Young Women's Activity, they had a "fiesta" themed party, learned a lot about each other and made a wonderful memory. Jaide is certain that she will be looking for a guy just like her dad when she gets married! (LIKE when she's 30)

The Zoo Crew!

One lovely Early May day, we made our first trip of the season to the Zoo! It was Brock and Maren's first "real" trip there (they were 9 months old last time, and weren't really that interested) so we all got to experience that very exciting "AWE" at seeing all of the animals! Derrick, Josh and Jordyn had a very good time too, Jaide was at school!

More new real estate!

During our OFF-TRACK time, we got spring fever pretty bad. The weather started to warm up and we ventured out into our newer and WAY bigger back yard, and it had to be done... we definitely needed a play/club house back there.

Mom salvaged some used wood from an old deck and after searching far and wide on the internet, finally found a plan she thought was within her realm of carpenter skills. Despite the instructions being completely arbitrary & the cut & supply list incomplete, we put together a pretty sweet place indeed! EVERYONE helped, including the twins, and we found out that Brock is VERY tool savy! The kids (all of them) LOVE it! They often eat their lunch and/or dinner in it together and imaginations are expanding! Hooray! Now if we could just figure out how to open our pool! :)

...Faster than a speeding bullet!

Jaide had her first sports adventure as a member of the West Point Jr. High track team. It was a great experience for her; she got really fit and built her endurance, and did some stuff (high jump) she was at first afraid to do!

We all got in to it too as we cheered her on at her track meets! ( GO JAIDE!!!) The kids had a blast running around the tracks and school grounds, especially ones with rolly hills!

During Derrick's track-off vacation in April, he and Blake headed to Bartlett Lake in Arizona for the first annual "Jones Men Catfishing Trip!"

Pulling these HUGE catfish out of the lake was like Christmas because compared to Utah (where catfish are puney) Arizona fishing reins supreme! Blake and Derrick got seriously giddy over these 7-10 pounders, but the locals on the shore giggled at the guys, cuz these "keepers" are the size they normally throw back! Apparently catfish at this lake get up to 35-40 pounds! Whoa!

It was an exciting event for the guys, and they can't wait to get back (even having to drive the 45 MPH speed limit through the reservations is worth it!) and the fish are DE-LISH! Josh and Jaide (our fish haters) even like it! WOW!
